Washington, D.C. - Wizards forward/center Nene underwent an MRI exam today that revealed an MCL sprain in his left knee. The injury occurred in the third quarter of last night's 96-83 win at Cleveland. He will miss approximately six weeks.
Nene has appeared in 49 games for Washington this season, averaging 14.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.24 steals in 30.1 minutes.Posted in: Sports
The Wizards won their third straight game last night over the Cleveland Cavaliers, 96-83. By holding the Cavaliers to 11 points in the fourth quarter, the Wizards have returned to the .500 mark with a record of 28-28. They return to Verizon Center this Tuesday for a match up with the Orlando Magic. Tomorrow night will be the second of four meetings between the teams, with Washington taking the first game 98-80 in DC. Tip-off is set for 7:00PM on Comcast SportsNet and can be heard on WFED-AM 1500/THE FAN-FM 106.7.
