Guard Expected to Return to Team During 2014 Season
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Washington Mystics head coach and general manager Mike Thibault announced today that guard Tayler Hill and her partner Dave Lighty are expecting their first child in May.
"We wish the best for Tayler and Dave," said Thibault. "She intends to play at some point next season, and we will be glad to welcome her back when she is ready to return. Tayler's improvement over the last two months of the season was significant, and we know that she is dedicated to becoming a great player in the WNBA."
A standout at Ohio State University, Hill was selected by the Mystics with the fourth overall pick in the 2013 WNBA Draft. She averaged 6.5 points and 1.7 rebounds in 34 games last season with the Mystics.
"Dave and I are happy to expand our family and are looking forward to welcoming a healthy baby," said Hill. "We are thankful for the support of our families and the Mystics organization as we start our new journey as parents."
